Long story short my partner is on a IBR plan and it has just updated and her new payment is much higher than she can afford comfortably-
She owes about 90k in all
What are some steps she can take is there programs available that we should look to?
I did not go to college so I am not familiar with this issue or to help but I want to be helpful. Seems like she was irresponsible while the interest rates were paused and spent numerous years paying the minimum payment of $50 a month
Obviously can’t go back and change anything just wondering how to help her.

What’s her income? When did she take her very first loan ever? Does her budget have some room for cuts?
Are you married? If not then not much can change if you are, is her agi lower than both of yours combined? If so… itd be cheaper
