VECO is exhibiting strange price increases over the past month. One was tied to an announcement (May 6) but the other one seems to have come out of nowhere (Apr 20). Can someone smart please explain this activity? Is this institutional moves, frontrunning, retail hype?

Check out a chart comparing VECO to semi ETFs for the past month. On May 5th it was at about the level of the ETFs. The May 5th earnings report are what has made it overperform the month.
