I am absolutely obliterately tired of establishments like Ulta and TJ Maxx constantly asking customers to sign up for a credit card just to “save 20% today.” I know it’s legal, but at this point it feels borderline like soliciting.
I’ve especially noticed Ulta becoming extremely pushy lately. At my local store, the sales manager in particular has been very persistent even after I say no once or twice. I understand employees are probably pressured to ask, but it gets uncomfortable when “no” doesn’t seem to end the conversation.
America is already drowning in debt, yet companies continue aggressively pushing high interest store credit cards on people over makeup and skincare purchases. It’s honestly irritating and makes the shopping experience feel less genuine.
