I already bought the basic Ledger and Trezor models, and I’m thinking about getting a third hardware wallet.
I only use them around once a month, so I’m worried about long-term durability — especially batteries failing over time. What would you recommend I get next, and what’s the best approach for long-term cold storage?

You don’t need to keep buying hardware wallets, you can just keep generating new seeds…
I recommend Coldcard Q for all serious investors. If you keep the batteries separate, the thing will never cause you concern as you currently have. Also, it’s got all the bells and whistles. If you have a stack you really want to protect, it’s technically better in every way as compared with Ledger. Trezor’s good, but you have to buy a specific version for BTC only, and it’s not exactly airgapped like the Q is. The coldcard Q is the best IMO and IRL.
I recommend the DIY SeedSigner project. There is no better fully air gapped cold storage method to learn the details of seed generation than that. It is fully open source and you can generate seeds in a completely analog fashion that never touches an internet connected device. And it is much less expensive than all other hardware devices. Takes some tinkering, but fun and worth it for the knowledge gained.
Feels a bit redundant unless you want geographic separation or multisig. Two solid hardware wallets is already more than most people use for cold storage.
