A little background. I’m 28, currently in the military. I make about $7400 dollars a month. I have 65K in TSP (basically a 401K). 12k in stocks and about 40 grand in savings (just got a large lump sum for reenlisting).

The only debt I have is a house I bought with my mortgage being about 1700 a month living in Norfolk VA. I’m just looking for some advice on how to invest smartly before I proceed to invest this nice sum I got. Any help is appreciated.

    Investment advice…..

      Follow the sub wiki.

Keep around 6months expenses in a HYSA.
Contribute to matching in the TSP.
      Max a Roth IRA.
Keep going in the TSP, to max if you can.
Then if you still have more, use a taxable brokerage.

For funds, follow the 3-fund portfolio. Total US + total international +bonds (bonds come later in life).
      VTI + VXUS, or VT

TSP has some specific choices I’m not as familiar with, so I’m sure someone who knows those better can answer whats best in there.
