I’ve been backing up photos on Google for about 10 years and my free storage is about filled up. Prior to that I filled up my OneDrive account. Any recommendations for free online storage that is easy and reliable?
I’ve abandoned Amazon, so that is out but I’m open to ideas.

I am not a prolific photographer, just he usual family photos, school choir concerts etc.

Any tips on storing digital photos?

You can also setup a media server on a NAS and access your home movies/photos from any device in your home. Or remotely is also possible. r/plex r/jellyfin

I would still back them up on the cloud and portable drive.

    2. If they were photos, you would buy something to keep them safe from moisture and sunlight and loss. It wouldn’t be free.

Definitely building your own server is the way to go. I’ve been very happy with a 4TB Unraid build made from old stuff I had laying around.

The above is from a reddit thread a month ago asking how many Google accounts you can verify with the same phone number. Apparently it used to be 4, but the poster in the quote says it’s 2 currently.

MEGA give you 20GB free too if that’s of any use to you.

    5. We have two external hard drives that are mirror images. We have never stored our file anywhere else. The drives are stored in a fireproof safe. We also have all the same files on laptop and desktop. Probably a pretty penny to start such a setup these days, but I would do it again today if I had to make such a decision. No one has my files but me, and that is important to us.
