Satoshi left bitcoin with his last confirmed message being a plea that it's too early for a big website like Wikipedia to start supporting BTC.

Just yesterday it was announced Iran started promoting BTC payments for letting ships pass safely through the strait of Hormuz. Where around 1/4th of the world's oil passes. I saw many people cheering of how immutable BTC is.

But in reality this could be a problem. If a large state actors that is an adversary to the west starts accepting BTC officially and it seems to be catching on, who's to say the supporting infrastructure we've come to rely on won't be rug pulled?

Exchanges, services, apps and even most wallets… Nearly everything built to support the surrounding economy of BTC isn't immutable. BTC remains immutable but sadly we've failed at building a resistant cyclical economy around its merits. Maybe it's too early, or we've been to naive so far.

Iran using bitcoin, maybe it's too early
