German prosecutors have charged a Ukrainian man over the 2022 Nord Stream explosions under the Baltic Sea. The pipelines, which carried Russian natural gas to Europe, were heavily damaged. The suspect allegedly headed up a seven-man sabotage team.

German media report that among the charges against Serhii K. is one for destroying infrastructure, considered a war crime under international law. This is the first indictment against an alleged participant in the blasts.

I blame Germany for having over 60% of their energy needs coming from Russia and being part of nato …. It’s completely irresponsible and yet another reason Europe drags down the alliance. You can’t keep up even if you wanted to because of your leadership

The pipeline was owned by a Russian company and directly linked to Russia's energy network. It is a valid military target during war.
