So I just fucked myself I went online to discover to apply for my very first credit card and I wanted a secured credit card with a with the credit limit of 500. That’s what I was gonna deposit. It showed me what I got approved for and and showed the cards that you could pick and I picked the Discover it cash back card thinking it was the secured card, but it wasn’t apparently and I was given the thousand dollar limit, already have a hard inquiry . Though it’s my first credit card I am informed on how to use a credit card and how to build my credit. The dos and donts ect…..I just have always been told to get a secured credit card as your first so now I feel like I messed up so bad
EDIT: thank you guys ! I’m an over thinker . I’m so relieved
Applied for the wrong card

People only say get a secured card first since your chances of getting a normal card is low so it’s not a fuck up.
this is better than getting a secured card, just be responsible w/ it
You don’t need a secured card. You get that so that the companies later approve you for a regular card bit you now have a regular card.
Good job. 👍
Just try to spend $300 or less a month on the card and pay the whole bill every month to avoid paying interest.
You totally lucked out man! This was my first card and it set me up beautifully. Don’t spend what you can’t pay back and otherwise benefit from an eventual boost to your credit score!
You basically managed to bypass a step. It’s good. I never got a secured card either (granted, it was 40 years ago and I don’t even know if they were around back then)
Just use it responsibility – pay off each statement balance on or before every due date and don’t spend more than your means.
This is fuckin awesome news my brutha n now u dun have to use your own moneyz grats ok thr new card brutha 🥳🥳
If you’re informed on how to use a credit card properly, you have no reason to fear getting a standard credit card. You’ve got this!
An unsecured Discover It with a $1,000 starting limit is a *fantastic* start. Thats better than most people’s first card. Secured cards are a stepping stone towards unsecured cards, and you skipped that step entirely. Why are you upset about this?? Feels like reading something to the tune of “I applied for a minimum wage job and accidentally got an offer for $60k/year, I messed up so bad, do you think they’ll let me ask for a wage decrease”
