I don’t want to seem insensitive as I have read so many in the opposite direction but I just want to know if I’m doing anything wrong.
I am recertifying next month and so went to studentaid to see what I might be getting my self into. I used the payment calculator and entered my AGI for last year as that is what I would certify with. Along with 0 dependents.
I was then absolutely floored that the estimator says my monthly will be cut in half! From roughly $330 to $150 along with a shrunken timeline. That is with my income going up YoY.
I did run the estimate in my calculator multiplied by months and the math does check out. I am just super surprised that my payments would be modified down like that as all I’ve seen is payments going up. Anyone have a guess as to why?
Also I wanted to ask, I do have autocertification on, but the estimator says I FFEL and that some data cannot be imported. Will that affect my recertification? Or should I call my servicer.
