Was Jordan Belfort a good person?

I do tend to watch a lot of his videos and have been binge watching them lately. He seems genuine and seems like a well intentioned individual for the most part. However, many comments say that he’s still a scum bag because even after his prosecution and being released, many people still say he’s involved with shady businesses and promotions that would much resemble how he did business before he was prosecuted. For me personally, maybe he just operates putting the salesman first which Is really common in business. But something about him rubs me the wrong way while it seems he is made out to be some hero. Especially after his inditement and the movie in 2013.
