um this is our second or third one third
one I believe so um bringing you some
fresh perspective and um hopefully
there’s a lot of takeaways you’ll get
from this webinar I’ve got so much
jam-pack strategies tactics domain
insight into the industry to help you
understand how to level up throughout
your career because when I look at my
career in it I’ve been in it for 25
years it’s always planning out your next
three moves so to speak right and that
could be over the span of like three to
five years and some of us early in our
careers never think about that and it’s
such a important Catalyst to grow and
and and move up in the world of it much
faster because now with AI and so much
change happening in Tech you want to
figure out where you want to specialize
and we’ll talk about that um we’re going
to talk about essentially how you can
become You Know Rich super rich as an IT
engineer in 2024 and Beyond because it’s
created so much Financial Freedom for me
but opened up the gates for lots of
different Pathways and and into
management into hardcore architect thing
big IT solutions for big
Fortune uh five 100 companies to
starting my own tech company was all due
to um my passion for information
technology or it in general and a lot of
you guys on this call are probably in
similar uh boat right just figuring out
how to navigate your it career in the
best way possible that gives you also
your your purpose your eeky guy
something you can be super passionate
about and not be stuck in a deadend job
that you absolutely hate okay so good
mix of folks here from sales engineering
all the way to full stack network
engineering cyber Cloud devops we got a
good ratio I see 73% are interested in
cyber I see majority have half half the
people here have a bachelor’s degree
right um onethird high school diploma
great I’m going to show you for those
high school diploma uh graduates to how
to not waste your your time and money
and energy in in in a college degree um
but um do you think uh college is a good
use year of time so we got you know 40
60% 40% says yes 60% says no um I’ll
give you my take on it later as we go
through this master class how much money
do you make right now we have 20% of the
field unemployed 27% making under 50,000
and then 40 % in the 50 to you know 80k
Mark which which makes sense and then we
got 15% of the crowd you know making
close to 100K no one really breaking six
figures so great if no one on this call
is breaking six figures you are in for a
treat because I’m going to show you the
Playbook of how to make six figures um
within 18 to 36 months depending on what
your background is but definitely
possible sometimes our students do it
within one year but that’s that’s the
abnormal that is you know the um the 2%
that that are able to do that right out
the gate um but there are tactics to do
that uh more efficiently effectively if
you’re in a metro area and if you have
some type of working background but if
you’re coming straight out of high
school or college right like you’re
going to have to get that entry level
job uh you know between 60 to 90 first U
maybe even lower in in certain rural
areas in the country all right 78% says
you you are yes I’m all in um in getting
your dream Tech job and I think that’s
everyone’s passion or or goal one of
their top goals in their career should
be it’s like what is my dream job what
what is the best ideal dream job that I
would just super be excited about and
thrive in right uh so I’m going to end
this poll great I just kind of reviewed
the poll just to kind of get a scan of
the room I want to share the results so
you guys can

one thing that really helped me realize

dream it job um goal so awesome thank

important this is going to be
interactive there’s going to be a
workshop uh integrated into this so
let’s rock and roll welcome to how to
become rich as an IT engineer in 2024
and I’m going to uh explain how why this
is possible and when I Define Rich what
is rich rich to me is when you are
financially free you have food shelter
water and you’re able to work on your
passions your interest in technology
that pays you right and and pays you
good money um that is how to become rich
as an IT engineer and everyone has a
different number in mind and we’ll talk
about what your number is but for me it
was 100,000 when I was making maybe
8,000 a year minimum wage at a hotel I
saw the it guys making 16,000 I was like
whoa that’s double what I make now as a
maintenance clerk but you know my my
dream was to eventually make a 100,000
and this is
1999 and I was able to accomplish that
dream like you know pretty much a decade
later so I want you to always think in
terms of like what is my passion what is
you know that dream engineer position or
the dream management position like you
could be an engineer on the technical
side but you could also be a manager um
maybe your dream is to become a CIO one
day or a IT director so there’s
technical path there’s management path
but you truly want to work in a career
field that opens up all the different
job possibilities because you might not
stay in one job forever so for those
that don’t know who I am my name is
Terry Kim I’m one of the co-founders
here we’ve been around for eight years
we’ve trained over a thousand it
engineers in the military um with top
secret clearances and I I I myself had a
top secret seci clearance served five
years in the United States Air Force um
my co-founder Jacob uh did eight years
and then we got out of the military and
worked in all sectors of the civilian
sector um so we know how military uh
training is and that’s what we’re you
know really proud of if creating this
milit military training framework that’s
trains people on Real World skills and
applicable skills that can transfer to

story of how I went from zero to
engineer a truly a story of the American
dream how to land your dream it job
without a college degree cuz my dream
job was working at Cisco as a systems
engineer and I finally got there uh
within 10 years I truly believe you can
get your dream job much quicker these
days within five years why I say five
years that is the rule for like the
10,000 hours if you want to master and
become the expert in anything where you
build truly high demand skills uh that
are sought out in the marketplace where
you become Irreplaceable where you
become in high demand that employers are
willing to pay you 150 200 250 um K USD
a year annual salary because you are the
best at what you do and so that’s 10,000
hours 2,000 a year in in estimated hours
you can put into your passion times five
years now you got the 10,000 hour rule
uh crush and that’s what it took me you
know when I was in the Air Force and
kind of worked my way to becoming a top
instructor it took me five years to get
there um that that’s what brought my
whole passion for teaching and then once
I got out I wanted to be a Hands-On
Builder um around the data center
Technologies the Voiceover IP
Technologies and also the firewall and
and intrusion detection and some of the
cyber security perimeter um in internal
intrusion detection systems I got really
passionate about and that took another
five years so like five years in the
field network engineering just building
doing migrations building cutovers you
know a lot of physical and also just
kind of layer one layer two stuff like
switching and and and Wi-Fi and things
like that but then got passionate about
converge networking video conferencing
Voiceover IP telepan um firewall setting
up disaster recovery and like that kind
of encompassed my entire 10year decade
um and that decade I landed all types of
different jobs right and the five jobs
that earned me six figures was finally
becoming a senior network engineer and
you know that led me to you know going
from like like just doing and and like
devices like switching and routing and
wireless right moving into more complex
IT solutions like data center
Technologies uh voice and video um that
was huge back in 20 05 learning that and
then learning um perimeter security and
intrusion detection and IPS systems um
and then learning firewall technology uh
which led me to a lot of job
opportunities where people wanted to
hire me as a uh you know as a senior
network security engineer or a security
Consulting engineer um but I decided to
pursue my passion for data center
Technologies and got recruited by Cisco
systems as a systems engineer and I’ll
talk later more about this but systems
engineering can be building out
architecting and rolling out the system
or the solution yourself but also
handing it off to a POS implementation
team I was more on the pre-sale side
which is architecting all I’m doing is
architecting Solutions and then selling
it um via my account management team or
they’re selling it I’m more of the
technical uh guy on the team but part of
the sales organization uh one one of the
most lucrative positions you can be in
the world of it is getting into
pre-sales and so I’ll talk a little more
about that um you know as a pre-sales or
systems engineer you can make you know
anywhere from 180 to 360 a year um
annually USD uh technical account
managers can earn anywhere from you know
200k to even a million dollars because
now you’re starting to sell um and
you’re starting to get higher
commissions you know um anywhere from 3
to 6% on on some huge seven eight nine
fig deals you can understand why uh Tams
can make a lot of money four and I was a
tam at Arista networks with a 350k comp
comp compensation package so you get
base salary plus commissions plus you
know stock options grants things like
that I think when I left Arista I ended
up like leaving like a million dollars
of stock orista Network stock um on the
table uh you know to start ngt Academy
right um and so network manager um you
know as a uh you know someone proficient
in network infrastructure I was able to
manage like three Network Engineers
under my team um when I was at the bank
um before jumping shipping work going to
go work for cisal systems I was a
Solutions architect at Dimension data
one of Cisco’s largest gold Partners so
like Cisco has over
40,000 Partners worldwide and you can go
work for any of them and so this is why
I want to show you how you can be rich
because I proved myself um that I could
be rich as an engineer and it opened up
a lot of different doors for me and
understand that once you make 150 and up
like um there’s so much opportunity
right and and and the hardest part is to
just break six figures but once you
break six figures I promise you like
you’re going to get job offers every day
literally my LinkedIn inbox was flooded
with recruiters offering me different
jobs because once you break six figures
like you’re just in a whole different
category and that’s what I want to focus
this master class today on you guys
excited this is what I want to share
with you is how to become rich where you
can get six figure jobs on demand you
can get stock options so you can own
equity in some of these major uh
companies whether it’s new or whether
they’re the big 800 pound gorilla like
working for Amazon Cisco Dell Juniper
Palo Alto you name it right there’s
hundreds of these companies out there um
and when you are able to make anything
one from 150 to 350k that’s what I
consider you being rich now if you
consider being rich To Be A Millionaire
or multi-millionaire
um then there’s a pathway for that what
pathway is that is to start your own uh
IT training company it’s to start your
own it uh managed Services Company where
you manage clients networks for a
retainer or maybe you start an IT value
added reseller company and you sell a
lot of IT solutions uh work on a lot of
different projects or you may start your
own IT consulting business so again
multiple ways to get to 100 to 350 K
range as an employee and then if you
want to break the 350k range you can
become an account manager in technical
uh Solutions or you can start your own
it some kind of it X related business
right so multiple ways to get rich to my
point how to become rich is to build
those skills and I’m going to tell you
three well two secrets that’s going to
help you build and bridge that Gap right
how exciting is that because when I did
when when I didn’t know any of this you
know um I stumbled upon it through a
mentor who was working on projects and I
I realized that was a key secret to not
only Propel your career but to build the
right skill sets so you can have
multiple options to be rich as an
engineer right and and that as you know
my my career went from engineer to
management to Executive right now I am a
um a u I consider myself a tech CEO
right so um that is an executive
position and so you can move from
engineering into um management or
executive positions or finding your own
company one day so this is something
that I didn’t think was possible for me
but you know I was able to earn
$978 in a two-e paycheck check um this
is uh one of my paychecks um at Cisco
Systems so you know imagine the
20-year-old me that didn’t even know how
to boot up a computer um until
1999 um a whole another story maybe I’ll
get into it a little bit but you know I
was looking at these jobs making 16,000
a year I never thought I could collect
almost 10 grand in a twoe paycheck so
this is not to brag but to show you
what’s possible right without a college
degree without um you
know um having to have a ccie or like a
master’s or PhD but being able to stack
on the right skills projects and CTS and
be able to demand a such a high income
was truly um you know shocking to me but
that’s the awareness that you need to
build because when once you know this is
possible um like when I broke my first
100K markk in 23 months as a civilian um
I met other Engineers making 200 250 so
the question was why am I making 100
when these guys are making 200 to 250
what what skills am I lacking what am I
not conscious about does that make sense
guys once we bring awareness to what’s
possible then now it becomes in in reach
in Arms Reach when when I don’t know
that you know know I’m unconsciously in
my bubble in my own world whether it’s
friends parents you know education
system that kind of bottle bottlenecks
me into thinking oh like this is this is
all I can make and maybe some of you
guys been stuck right who’s been stuck
in the chat window making you know 50 to
100,000 who’s been stuck in this range
forever right if you’ve been stuck in
this range just put a you know comment
in the chat because um a lot of people
get stuck in a particular income
category it’s because you you feel like
you might not be worth it to make more
money or you might feel like you’re not
confident enough or you know you’re not
good enough right and some of these
limiting beliefs can anchor into our
subconscious right because I thought I
was good enough to make 60 to 80 I never
thought I was good enough to make 150 to
200 you guys following along so what
happens is it’s the mental shift it’s
being
openminded to receive more abundance
more financial income because now you’re
projecting this future version of
yourself to match a frequency of all
these other Engineers that at are at a
caliber that is just mind-blowing to you
like whoa I like Terry’s telling me that
you can make 200 plus thousand as an
engineer I didn’t even think that was
possible for me well I’m just shattering
that belief that Veil that illusion
right now right with this check that is
almost 12 year was 12 years old right
and and I have friends that are working
like at Zoom making 300 uh 50,000 a year
and all they do is you know uh demo Zoom
Enterprise features and solutions for
big major corporations how is that
possible well it’s this world of it that
spends what four trillion a year it’s an
enormous industry and you are probably
months away like literally if you kind
of lock yourself up in a it room or your
office or whatnot and just went to town
on some of these projects that you can
start architecting yourself and getting
really acquainted yourself with these um
IT solutions and then you start rolling
out these it Solutions in a customer
environment or going work for a VAR or
an MSP and you start getting these
projects under your belt I’ll tell you
your life is going to change in an
instant right when I was
making
28,000 and and I jumped to 60,000 and
then I realized wow my skill sets really
you know require me well it can demand
the sixf figure salary that’s when the
light bulb went off and within nine
months I just focused on projects that
could level up my skill sets so I can
work on more meaningful um it stuff
that’s going to you know elevate my my
career and also my skill sets versus me
being stuck at a job doing grunt work
doing tier one and a lot of you guys are
probably in a job where you you you’re
not working on the million dooll
projects you’re working on
troubleshooting and and and closing out
just mundane tickets so that’s another
way to stay stuck right how do we get
unstuck out out of that we’re going to
talk through that so look I’m not going
to even dive into this but it just shows
you over a trillion 10 trillion dollars
will happen in Damages by 2 which
requires a huge need of cyber Security
Professionals right in America’s job
market we already know we’re one of the
top low-wage income nations in the world
right who wants to make 10 15 bucks an
hour when we could be making 40 to $120
per an hour right right out the gate as
an IT professional if you want position
yourself correctly two you get the right
skill sets the right certifications
under your belt and you get the right
projects which I’m going to talk about
right um and and like forget the
naysayers forget the haters forget the
people that do not understand your level
of ambition the frequency that you want
to get to the life that you want right
is in your head and you are the only one
that has the vision of what kind of life
you want to bring to yourself and for
your family and so the naysayers are
going to you know might say you need to
go to college and and we’ve been all
fooled like you know I’ve been fooled
you know um and help desk right two to
four years you know and and then go up
as a technician and an admin and I’ve
seen this story being told over and over
in the IT industry when I was getting
started out like Terry you can’t make
200 250k unless you have your ccie you
might have to go get your Masters like a
bunch of baloney from people that hasn’t
even reached that Mark they weren’t
making 250 they’re making like 60,000
and and and spreading all this BS right
like oh you can’t do it Terry like BS
like I’m making 60 I am going to make
200k one day right and it took me when I
was like 60k to get me to 200 250 guys
it took me another three years right so
it’s not done overnight but come on
three years like give me a break what
other career guys outside of being a
doctor or lawyer is going to bring you
earnings of 150 to 150 to 350 a year
tell me any profession right um as a
doctor you have to go through eight
years of med school and then residency
so it’s like a decade later you know you
might make 70 to 150 as as a as a
residence and then maybe a few so it
might take 15 years for you to start
making some really good money maybe half
a million 500k a year as a doctor same
thing with a lawyer to become a partner
blah blah blah and so on right we in it
we’ve had a bike rider Kiron Taylor go
from making 400 th $400 a week that’s
1,600 a month right as a bike rider in
New York City and within nine months
right graduate our program like six
months and then nine nine months Mark
doing all these job interviews for 90
days he he got a junior uh consult in
cyber security uh uh Consulting analyst
position making
102,000 right that’s his first job in
cyber security imagine what he’s going
to make five years from now so the point
is you can break six figures and get
into the 150 to 250k Mark within two to
four years it doesn’t take 10 to 20
years right um and that’s why you need
to drown out the noise you need to paint
the own picture like a year from now one
year from now how much do you want to
earn if you’re making 60 80,000 like if
I’m in your shoe right I want to know
how I can 2x my income if I’m at 60 I
want to know how what will it take for
me to earn
120,000 in the next year right or set
myself on path for that to become a
reality right but it is not until you
raise your standards and bring awareness
to this question and actually seek it in
your heart and really desire it it’s not
going to happen right your boss is not
going to be like hey John I want you to
come into my office you’ve been you’ve
been making 60,000 and you know we’ve
been giving you Cola allowance and now
you’re at 70,000 over the last five
years right we we want to take you from
70,000 to
120,000 you’re never going to have a
boss have that conversation but on the
flip side you could go to your boss like
hey I’ve been at this company for 5
years I’ve taken on these XYZ projects
here’s how much impact I made blah blah
blah and you give him an executive
summary it’s like the average network
engineer I think I need a job title
change and I would like to be earning
110,000 right and propose something to
him right how many people have done that
like I’m just telling you a story of
where I proposed to my boss I was making
60 I said I need to get to 110 and this
is a true story and he was shocked he
like I don’t even make that and long
story short like we ended up getting the
whole it Department pay raises because
everyone’s getting underpaid at this
Credit Union but you never get what you
don’t ask for in life so it’s like what
are you asking for in life in return
what is you know I’ll just bring in the
whole law the universal law right of
cause and effect you reap what you sow
what are you bringing to your awareness
field of Consciousness and saying how
much do I want to earn what skills do I
need to do and then what are the action
you’re taking every day to create this
new reality for you because every day if
you’re working on grunt work and you’re
doing PC support or you’re doing a job
you absolutely hate that’s that’s the
universe going to reflect that back to
you and you’re going to be stuck in that
forever in a loop so let’s break let’s
break those limiting beliefs let’s break
these Illusions these veils right um and
let not let other people limit um us to
what we can do um you
know and and the rising cost of you know
college is ridiculous and so we don’t
want to be looking at1
$200,000 debt decisions that we’re
making 18 19 year olds make which is sad
you know and um I had all types of odd
jobs um you know before breaking into it
uh you know I wanted to be a world
famous DJ I was a bellhop I was in
construction work I was waiting tables I
was bagging groceries and had all these
different jobs because I didn’t have the
right skills or mentors to tell me there
was a different career path where I
could become rich as an IT engineer but
that’s when I went from you know the
mindset of bagging groceries hustling um
for every dollar to building the right
skill sets so I could be super in demand
in this world of Information Technology
AI like you name it right Cisco
just announced a new certification
launching later in the fall that’s going
to incorporate some of the AI Tech sty
so we’re already starting to see the
evolution of Technology go into this web
three with blockchain with AI with
automation like we’re entering a whole
another era of where it and this cool uh
you know set of skills that you can
learn will will will make you so
valuable right 5 10 years from now so
what are you working on right now and
and because I can tell you 1999 a
million devices connected to the
internet now we’ve got like 20 billion
plus devices due to the internet of
things and so if you just look at the
last 20 years from 2000 to 2020 so much
technology has changed imagine what’s
going to happen in 2020 to 2040 right
right that’s going to be insane and so
like what a great time to be living
right now in the world right what a
great time to say I want to go into Tech
I want to go into Information Technology
because you don’t have to decide one job
or one career path you can just jump
into it and all the different
possibilities start opening up like in
my career I probably had 100 plus
different jobs and career pathways open
up just cuz I started an it right and
back in the day in 2000 the degrees
weren’t like cyber security or become a
network engineer or Cloud engineer like
these are all just Specialties within
the world of Information Technology so
degrees were like get a bachelor’s in
information technology or management
information systems and so on and so on
or computer science now you know they
have network engineer or even cyber
security degrees but those are not
required to break into it
so my question is what if your dreams
can come true but what if you could do
it in two to four years right would you
take me up for it that’s the
game-changing You Know download I want
to give you right based on these three
Secrets go secret number one right is
just your mindset and your belief a lot
of people cannot move from making
880,000 to 200,000 because it’s a
mindset it’s a limiting belief and
they’re not letting go of that maybe
they think money is the root of all evil
or maybe something was planted early on
like hey you know um I can’t earn this
much if I don’t have a college degree
these all hold us back and so I want to
just shatter if you can come with me
into this next section with an open mind
understand that everything starts in the
mind as a thought and it’s your belief
systems that either hold you back or
move you into Limitless unlimited
potential
um and possibilities for you and so I’m
going to share with you my five-step
framework of how to shatter your
limiting beliefs and just have faith and
to be able to pursue your dreams every
dream that I have it starts with that
dream it’s the thought right that
bubbles into my mind and it’s a desire
now um do you believe in that dream so
like when I was earning like 60,000 I
went to 100 and I saw people making 200
250 that was my desire if I knew these
people were making and I had proof that
they were making it now um my dream just
expanded because my Consciousness
expanded of what’s possible right
because before I might not believe it
it’s like like before Roger banister
broke the 4-minute mile no one thought
that was even humanly possible Right was
it 1956 or 1953 he broke the 4minute
mile and then then you saw a a dozen
plus people start breaking the 4-minute
mile why because he showed what was
possible so do you believe right that
you can become rich as an IT engineer
that’s the first question you have to
ask if you believe that’s possible for
you then it is possible right whether
you believe or not right that thing it
is true okay um and so why not dream in
beautiful dreams and believe it
wholeheartedly cuz when you believe in
that’s when you’ll create a plan right
and you’ll be able to create an action
plan that you can execute on so first
step is dreaming second step is
believing in it yourself because if you
don’t believe it no one else will
believe it and the universe won’t
believe it and so you will not attract
the things that are meant for you to
take this new Journey this pathway once
you believe you can now create the plan
you can create an action plan whether
you do it on your own whether you find a
mentor or a school like you have to
figure out what is this plan right and
that’s that’s the that’s the third step
once you create the plan now you want to
execute and sometimes we create plans
like hey my parents told me I need to go
to college so I create a plan to go to
college I go to college and you know as
we know like what 50 50% of college
grads don’t end up in the job that they
signed up for a major did right so it’s
like it’s like do you want to toss a
coin up in the air and say hey I created
a four-year plan to finish my degree but
it’s going to be a coin toss right or
would you rather create a plan that’s
that’s tried and Tred and tested and you
know it’s going to work right um and
then once you create a plan you have to
execute and the last one is to focus
don’t get scattered brain and chasing a
thousand things have conviction and and
knowing that wow I’m passionate about it
I’m going to stay in this and find my
dream job and if as long as you focus I
like to say Focus stands for follow on
course until until successful my friends
right once you’re able to do that then
you’re going to find success cuz you’re
not going to give up and you’re going to
persevere until you land that dream job
okay but in order to pursue action and
and be inspired one thing that has
helped me is to figure out my why right
like Simon syck has a great Ted Talk
around the why like the why is the
importance right is is it to provide a
rich life for my family is it to build
my dream home maybe it’s to buy my dream
car maybe it’s to have beautiful
vacations with with my partner right um
um maybe it’s to take care of my parents
right so all your dreams are different
but if you can anchor into the why and
just kind of remember life is short now
I can go back and execute execute
execute take Massive Action so here’s a
beautiful quote I love um around the
growth mindset is not about how good you
are it’s about how great you want to be
so how great do you want to be in the
world of Information Technology do you
want to write a best-selling book on
cyber security you know um um some
specialty in Cy cyber security and be
known for that well why why not go after
it right because how great do you want
to be because the only limitation is
that which one sets up in one’s own mind
by Napoleon Hill and this is a great
book if you have limiting beliefs or
feel like you need to uh
reset um your potentiality then grab
this book called Dick and Grow Rich by
Napoleon Hill I read this book multiple
times in my career and it’s helped me in
so many ways to get my mindset right and
then if you have bad habits you want to
replace with good um you can get the
high performance habits book U by
Brendan bashard it’s a great book um to
kind of reset and reprogram your habits
because your habits is what’s going to
make you successful and I’m telling you
in it um if you’re exploring new uh
technology and new Stacks um I would
recommend at least uh like carving out
at least 10 20 hours a week this is
outside of your normal job if you’re not
carving out 10 to 20 hours a week for
studying something new then you’re not
going to get far ahead and you’re not
going to differentiate yourself right
from the rest of the crowd okay
here’s a bonus um kind of recap if you
don’t write want to read the book both
success and failure are largely due to
results of habit so um the book in a
nutshell is like seeking Clarity this is
the number one thing I mention like what
is your dream right make sure that is
Crystal Clear where do you want to go
right I want to be an engineer working
at
Google making 200,000 per year
right on their cyber security team
that’s very exact get clear right I like
for me I wanted to be in my dream job
working at Cisco before I hit 30 right
and I was able to accomplish that dream
um at by 31 so it just came like one
year late but like right like what what
is that dream and then letting it go but
having you know clarity is going to be
the number one thing that’s going to
move the needle in terms of creating
these habits and your why is going to
generate the energy number two right
like why are you doing what you’re doing
and and raising necessity is like hey I
want to go to the gym and and getting a
gym partner it’s like hey let’s Hold Us
hold each other accountable to go Monday
Wednesday and Friday so like raising
some stakes in the ground like like what
is the consequence if you don’t you know
do this plan right so you have to raise
some necessity or have some stakes and
then do things to increase productivity
like that is just like cardio or just
working out like meditating doing some
breath work like whatever you need to do
to increase productivity is what what
that point is number four um to be more
efficient uh five develop influence and
and this is very important throughout
your career you will need to develop
influence in your circle in your life in
your career career uh workplace
environment um this is how you get
promotions this is how you move up the
corporate ladder is developing strong
influence and how does you develop
strong influences knowing your stuff
like really become a subject matter
expert at whatever area in it that you
want to develop and then demonstrate the
courage right um to chase your dreams
and and never give up so here’s a couple
quotes that I really love um going back
into kind of like e Eastern uh
philosophy um but we we don’t rise to
the level of our expectations we fall to
the level of our training and so it’s
like my question to you is what type of
training or system have you put in place
to level up every day right or every
week true Warriors are Fierce because
their training is fierce so again
awareness like when I was you know
building my career up and even now I
have different set of books and training
and M masterminds and workshops that I
attend to level up as a tech CEO but
when I was an engineer I’m spending like
20 hours a week even nights and weekends
to like pck up my lab and to design some
it solution that I saw on a Cisco
validated design guide and I’m like man
whoever architected that I want to be
have the mind of an architect like that
at that level so what am I doing I’m
training every week I’m reading product
um guides I’m I’m reading product data
sheets off Cisco or paloalto or whatever
technology orista networks I’m so
intrigued about this new piece of
Hardware they that they designed over
the last few years I’m going to geek out
on it right so what are you doing to
level up to geek out um and to
understand certain things better than
anyone in the room and I’m not saying be
the smartest person in the room be the
smartest person in one particular topic
or area let everyone else smarter than
you CU you want to also absorb and
surround yourself with smarter Engineers
so that’s the reason I had to leave the
credit union I was the smartest person
in the room and I didn’t want to be that
person and then once I got into a room
where I became uncomfortable almost
intimidating like whoa these Engineers
are freaking smart that’s when I knew I
was in the right place because I was the
dumbest in the room and I needed to
level up and so keep that in mind all
right um so MBA um how do you want to
get your MBA and leveling up your it
career well just remember this mindset
we talked about it dream believe create
execute Focus get the mindset right once
the mindsets right right and you can do
this with like like breath work um ice
bath meditation good cardio like any
type of Fitness kind of programs could
get your mindset right um because the
way the dopamine hits and the way you
feel euphoric like it will help you um
get your mind out of the gutter so to
speak so um next is body right like once
you get the mindset right like the body
you need to be able to work on your body
to feel good so like good nutrition and
exercise those are the two things to
work on the body um and then aspiration
is your why and your goals getting
Clarity right um working with a mentor
or coach also could help with this
aspiration but who do you look up to um
you know and this person doesn’t have to
be someone that you physically um met
you know you could look up to Steve Jobs
because he’s very product Centric focus
and you love creating product right um
that’s one example right um so dreams
goals desires what are they and here is
our interactive session so let’s spend
the next five minutes to write this down
one is what is your current job title go
ahead and write that down and we are
going to be able to use this um at the
end of this call I’m going to give you a
special link so you get a free it career
strategy session on me where you get to
jump on a call with me or someone on my
team and we’re going to go through this
as well and so it’s good to have this um
ready but it’s going to be great to
build
awareness like where is your state of
mind right now and that’s what we’re
doing we’re going to be auditing
ourselves so we can plan a better future
right we’re doing this so we can plan
that two to four X level up in our
income right in our wealth
so
um once you know your current job title
you can go to salary.com or Google right
average salary for X my job title and
see if you’re getting underpaid or
overpaid if you’re getting underpaid
then that’s something you can easily fix
over the next 60 to 90 days you know
I’ve coached and mentored students stuck
at 60,000 had the job title network
engineer and then with a few tweaks and
and coaching boom he’s at 90 and then
later he’s at 150 all within one year 90
days for that first promotion to 90 and
then another uh nine months to get to
150 so that’s a 3X not a 3X but 2.5x
income pay raise right 60 to 150 in in
12 months right that is what’s truly
possible if you have the mindset right
but being able ble to audit yourself so
how much income do you currently make so
write that down and then from there how
much do we want to increase our
income 2x 3x 4X go ahead and write that
down right so if you’re making 50k and
you want a 3X that’s 150 and that’s your
goal but getting very clear at your goal
and 2 to 4X is not unreasonable it just
depends on the strategy right um the the
path you want to get there the and
there’s multiple ways up amount right
just think of it that way so it’s like
which which path do you want to take do
you want to take the path that like just
keeps looping around the mountain and
finally goes up later right or do you
want to just find the most efficient
Optimum path to get to a cent
right what are my degrees in my
certifications it’s just an inventory of
what what do I hold and and the question
is what am I missing right um am I
willing to relocate uh one best advice
that I got from a mentor of mine at
Cisco was like hey Terry if you want to
work your way up the ladder be open to
REM uh locate anywhere so meaning like
if I’m an sc I’m a systems engineer and
I want to be a sem manager managing like
six to eight Engineers under me like
that sem manager role in like Oklahoma
City where I live for example I don’t
live there but
um that guy might that my my boss my
current boss might not retire into 20
years right and and and so you know but
there’s like 30 other positions around
the country that I could apply for so if
I’m not stuck on being in Oklahoma City
and I can relocate anywhere I’m going to
move up much faster I don’t have to be
an engineer for five years I could be an
engineer for one year and move into
management why because I’m willing to re
relocate anywhere around the world in
fact if I’m working for Cisco I don’t
care if I they mve me to the Netherlands
or Iceland or or or Germany it doesn’t
matter right I just want career
progression because in the next career
progression I’m going to learn the
skills and I’m going to get the salary I
want make
sense all right do I have any mentors
guiding me in this industry right
especially in it or cyber security am I
surrounding myself right um because the
environment is going to influence me
just keep that in mind right when we’re
in our household and our parents are
raising us and our teachers and you know
our our our our our our coaches whatnot
they all influence us right so um who
are you surrounding with right um and uh
what job do I want to achieve what is my
dream job go ahead and write that down
maybe you know it maybe you don’t but um
let’s bring awareness to this right
maybe it’s to be a CIO one day maybe
it’s to be a architect a systems
engineer a devops cloud engineer a um
you know an IT director like what is
that job you want to achieve eventually
in three five years from now because
anything is possible within the three to
five year Horizon okay just keep that in
mind right and we’re breaking the 10,000
rule achievement in in five years so you
could become a subject matter expert in
anything literally right U maybe it’s
cyber security with some kind of AI
specialty sauce right but now you become
an expert in that particular Niche five
years from now okay um how much do I
want to earn right like write that down
okay um and it’s based on that 2x 3x or
4X your current income right so we want
something more lofty right
um and what is my potential so you might
say I want to earn 200k but my potential
is 500k if I do XYZ so what is my
potential okay and we’re setting our
potential based on our upbringing our
our belief systems our our our mindset
just keep that in mind okay because
every one of you on this call going
through this worksheet is going to have
different answers based on your
conditioning and your belief system what
is my why go ahead and write that down
okay maybe it’s to help my parents like
sometimes the why if the why is not
strong enough you’re just going to
Plateau you’re going to be happy you’re
going to be happy stuck at that 60k job
because that’s what you know that’s your
world and no one’s questioned it and no
one’s made you uncomfortable because you
don’t like com uncomfort uncomfort right
you want to be comfortable you want to
know what’s going on on a daily weekly
basis but maybe it’s time for someone
like me to break that bubble and say hey
hey why aren’t you living up to your
full potential right I’m asking you why
aren’t you living up to your potential
why you have all these excuses right um
saying oh the job Market’s bad I don’t I
don’t have this I don’t have that I
don’t have deserts like like stop it
with all the excuses because you know at
the end of the day that’s what’s holding
you back right and um someone needs to
finally tell you and I’m telling you on
this Master Class like you know stop the
excuses and know exactly what you want
to earn and know that it’s possible for
you and know that there’s a plan an
action step that you can take to get to
your dream goals okay and what do you
when do you want to earn this income by
having a future date is going to be
great and this is the time just to be
honest with with yourself what’s holding
you back you know is it time is it the
job is it um lack of family support is
it like you know write it all down
because at least you you know what
you’re writing down um and then you can
question it to be true or not or can we
remove this belief that’s holding me
back how much time do you want to spend
per week leveling up I mentioned 10 to
20 hours minimum right um now our let’s
audit our habits um let’s skip that one
for the purpose of this call because we
are going a little over and how about my
mindset do I have any limiting beliefs
and that goes back to back with with the
question what’s holding me back okay
what are next steps do I need to find a
mentor do I need to research a little
more about these different jobs that I
want to look at um maybe I want to do
some R&D on different technologies that
I know I want to be an expert in but
what are the next steps for me I know
one step is definitely getting on a call
with my career admissions team right and
help you navigate through this so I’m
going to whiz through the next five
minutes so I can definitely get through
some of these other slides um but top
secrets for acceleration is projects
guys I’m not going to sugarcoat it okay
this is what propelled my career into
the 300K Mark right um and so it’s
working on it projects coupling that
with SS and so working on six seven
eight figure projects is going to
catapult your it career okay this is the
secret sauce I’m just telling you right
um and you can do these projects within
the whole entire it ecosystem which is
working in an IT team at a Fortune 500
company this is where you want to be
right and then you can go work um at a
manufacturer or at a Cisco or or at a
channel partner or at a consulting
company right these top three in the
upper um diagram is where you want to
play in the ecosystem now you can break
six figures here but this is like 100k
EAS easy you can do 100K to 150k easy
inside an IT team at a Fortune 500 but
if you want to go from 150 to 2 to 250
to 3 350 and so on you want to jump into
this world okay consultant Channel
partners and
manufacturers all right so um let’s move
into kind of showing you different
career Pathways in the technical uh
track um this is like just a small
subset of hundreds of jobs you could be
working for just to break your way into
it and then once you break into it you
will start to figure figure out what
other passions you have do you want to
be in management do you want to stay
technical so many different options
start opening up like I said 100 plus
different jobs opportunities that I’ve
had in my 20 plus uh career in it um and
so um network engineering is the
foundation which is you know beautiful
because it’s like how does a PC work
inside a network how do two devices on a
network start talking to each other
create a network and the internet is a
network of things with everything
interconnected once you build the
foundation of your skills on networking
look at all these options for you right
from cyber security data center devops
Cloud sales Engineering Management and
Consulting so know that you’re in good
hands once you build a solid network
engineering um you know background
average IT professional jumping into
this current market is going to earn
92,000 um a year um right now over you
know 597 th000 open jobs you can check
out cyber.org for live open jobs
um I’m not going to jump into the
five-step guide because we’re lack of
time right now but um I W to jump right
into the Q&A but before I do that I want
to show you that you can jump right into
our programs um we have
full stack network engineering cyber
secur this is allinone so you get 18

six figures within six months help you
get into a job making let’s say 50 to
990,000 a year and then going into that
next second tier making 80 to 150
somewhere in that range um all within 18

started our company in 2015 Chase was
one of our first students um you know
came in placed him at a job making
60,000 when he was unemployed um was in
a pretty much a dead-end job um for a
long time for years even with an IT
bachelor’s degree um fast forward you
know six years like he’s a cloud
engineer uh passionate about devops now
he’s at um um um Whole Foods uh as a
principal Cloud engineer um well
actually this is Whole Foods as a cloud
engineer making 140,000 he has the
potential to make 200,000 plus because
he set it up for real success in the
cloud market and this is working for
Amazon Microsoft or
Google uh let’s see Mike went from
making 95,000 to 140,000 after coming in
from our program and he was you know in
his field for like I think 10 years as
the lead audio mixer so that’s why he
was already making almost six figures um
and then became an infrastructure
engineer and you know literally didn’t
even have to take a pay cut right so
went from like 95 to 115 and then later
became a cloud engineer manager at
140,000 and as a cloud engineering
manager he has so much more room to grow
between 177 to 2115 as a manager um
managing Cloud Engineers so the future
is very bright for him John went through
two of our programs first he was a
chemist making 40,000 and we landed him
a job making around 60,000 um one year
later uh coming out of our FSN program
then he joined our cyber program in 2021
graduated um and became a network
Consulting engineer making 140,000 at
CDW um and then later fast forward you
know four years three four years later
he’s a systems engineer finally joined
the major leagues as um a system
engineer at pal Alto networks uh landed
this job at September of 2023 last year
71% pay raise so significant pay raise
on this journey uh joining ngt Academy
graduating in 2020 you can see we’ve
changed his life in four years imagine
someone going to college for four years
right like what we do in four years is
just incredible um putting people in
their dream jobs that’s what we do here

from a bike rider making
$15 an hour about 400 a week um and then
Landing his first job at 101,000 as a
security consultant uh Analyst at as
centure right his future is super bright
as a consultant he could be making

future um Trisha went from Z to 70k uh
as an IT project manager coming through

is very bright for her um because you

can you still make six figures in the
same
time um if you’re not
so Raymond I I’m not sure what your
question is if you’re not in the tech
industry like it’s you can make six
figures like in sales you can make six
figures but you know kind of the purpose
of this call was like how you can break
six figures inside the IT industry so um
you don’t have to be in like a tech
field like you could go work for a uh a
bank right that has an IT team and you
can still break six figures right so um
not sure if that answer your question
but yes you can make six figures
obviously in the tech industry or even
outside the tech industry depending on
the skill sets um I think Tech skills
pay the most to help you break into a
six-figure job or two is sales learning
sales and that’s why if you combine Tech
and sales that’s the sales engineering
that I was in in the last five years of
my career um I think that is the most uh
lucrative um career path you can take or
going into become your own consultant I
know a lot of it professionals that are
Consultants that you know um work on
their own schedule work on their own
projects with their own clients and even
take sabatical um throughout their years
because they’re just working project to
project and if you’re able to be a
consultant you can charge you know um
anywhere from like 80 uh to $200 per an
hour you know depending on the project
scope all right car asked my biggest
concern hold up if I’m afraid to uh too
old to get started in it I’m at 50 um so
Carl um rest assured it’s never too late
um if you’re in your 50s um Carl Scott
um that I shared with you uh he was 60
years old when he joined our program
okay 60 years old okay a lot of
companies like to hire season
professionals and people that have a lot
of uh working history um professional
working history so to answer your
question it’s never too late we’ve had
60 year olds to 65 year olds uh join our
program and break through so um never
too

type of big architectural infrastructure
refresh by the way one of our main
Capstone projects all of our students
get access to is an incredible
infrastructure refresh that you can use
for starting your own consulting company
but leveling up your skills to get those
sixf figure job offers like I mentioned
like being able to collect that $10,000
twoe paycheck only was possible due to
the projects and so our main Capstone
project is doing an infrastructure
refresh for like 500 employee
headquarter and setting up two remote
branches and connecting those branches
and being able to do the architect
planning designing and rolling out the
switching the routing the firewalls the
IPC tunnels uh the disaster recovery the
firewall upgrades the infrastructure

upgrades all of that imagine if you did
that one project right
how would your level of skills level up
right that is the level of skills that
we teach and then when you use AI to do
automation of scripts like hey AI write
me a script for this blah blah blah
specifications now I’m able to you know
roll out projects much faster because I
have templates and AI tools that I’m
leveraging okay um AI can be used to do
a lot of the analysis that you know
might have taken me 10 hours I can have
ai do it in 20 minutes now I can focus
on other skills that that AI cannot do
and and that’s where the beauty lies is
being able to leverage AI to
become faster and a better integrator
and architect and and conductor right um
as an
engineer Dina I did my fsna and I had to

my mom how do I pick up where I left off

great the the degree is going to help
your resume so that’s great and the
master’s degree is going to help us to
help you negotiate a better salary for
that first entry level cyber security
position you want what we’re going to
help you is we’re going to bring the
experience in right it’s like almost
like on the job training type of labs
and Real World skills building we do at
ngt Academy it’s 80% Hands-On practical
um and experience uh skills building
versus theories and books and Concepts
so Shi great job on your Ms cyber
security degree now we need to get you
the experience so that’s why you need to
join ngt Academy and we can get you the
Capstone projects that will give you the
real field
experience all right I flush through

that’s more web development we are

amazing QA uh training school to bring

focus on infrastructure this is Network
Administration network engineering
anyone working on the infrastructure um
even some Network Administration server
Administration stuff we do teach on
VMware server virtualization things like
that but infrastructure Focus um
switching routing firewall wireless
access video voice data center
Technologies that’s what we focus on on
the infrastructure side um and then we
have cyber security and then we have
cloud and devops
um Automation and then we have sales
engineering these are the four areas we
focus
on all
