The US can't decide that, it's Germany's pipeline and we have learnt our lesson not to get hooked on Russian gas again. In my opinion the German government should deactivate this pipeline irreversibly.
Doesn't the Nord Stream 2 need a customers.
It will NEVER come back, it is totally unrealistic. It would take at least 3 years until the first gas could flow. But the consumption of gas is set to end around 2030. Therefore it will be absolutely impossible to earn the money to make up for the cost of repair.

Het kan.., maar erg enthousiast zijn ze niet meer aan beide zijden van de pijplijn verwacht ik. Je kunt de Russische Federatie volgens mij niet naar de onderhandeltafel dwingen momenteel. Daarvoor zul je iets aantrekkelijks moeten bieden. En dat doe je niet als je het bezette/verloren deel niet wilt opgeven.
Better to get LNG from Canada than from USA. Way more reliable country for now (and the next 4 years).
The pipeline cannot come back. Pipeline Russian gas cannot be a secure energy source.
