These tarriffs are trash 🤮 just a way to tax poor people and put cost of living through the roof… billionaires write off all the costs or pass them on to consumers and trump is consistently lying about the fact Americans pay HIS tarriffs while foreign countries pay the tarriffs they put on American goods coming to their country … purchasing power going down, as companies sell less for more

BCB, with regards to your notion about other nations removing tariffs, you have disappointed me with your take on this (a rarity). No country can play along with this because, from their perspective, caving to this form of bullying will likely yield only more bullying. The fact that you don't see that is kind of surprising. Tariffs can be imposed and removed very rapidly and the erratic deployment of tariffs from this administration will make it so that no nation can change policy with any confidence that conditions will reliably stabilize. The only option that they are left with is to attempt to untangle themselves from the US market (and by extension, the erratic decisions of the white house). The crash in the US dollar is showing you that.

"Their tariffs" aren't something that those countries can drop. Those made up tariffs are trade deficits. What are europeans supposed to do? Buy a wanktank + trunk full of bourbon per person so "europe drops those tariffs"? That's not gonna happen.
