Like the title says, are there any low cost fixes you guys use to keep shoes and gym bags from smelling?? I am trying to avoid tossing money at expensive sprays every month. Plus where I am at, the weather is humid, so that makes things worse.
I have seen people mention baking soda, dryer sheets, and odor packets, but not sure what actually lasts.
Any help is appreciated.
How do you keep you shoes and gym bags from smelling weird in the most frugal way??

Drying them out after use and not using the same shoes every day so they have time to properly air out.
Baking Soda is what I would recommend. But you are going to have to use it on a regular bases.
Air them out so they stay dry. Wet and damp makes stinky
baking soda takes in smells
also white vinegar to wipe the bag?
I wash them. Like, that’s generally what you do to keep stuff not stinky. Wash with a little white vinegar, air dry overnight.
I just use Lysol spray 🤷🏼♂️
It’s not just smell you have to worry about it’s the actual bacteria too. I don’t cheap out when it comes to hygiene.
Put them in the sun.
Bamboo socks have really helped my shoes stink less. I used to run every day and my shoes STANK. Then I switched to bamboo socks and washing my insoles in the washer with the rest of my clothes and now they’re substantially less offensive.
If they have any moisture, run a fan on them for the night so they completely dry out.
