Countries by aluminium production. The US does not even show up in top 10. Trump’s tariffs do not address the structural problems in US manufacturing.

Aluminum is a pretty important resource, too. We use it in: transportation (vehicles, aircraft), packaging (cans, foil), construction (window frames, roofing), electrical systems (power lines, components), and consumer products (appliances, cooking utensils)…we kind of have to have aluminum. So when he tariff’s aluminum he is indirectly tariffing everything made from it, as well. If production costs go up, so does the cost of the item at the register. It’s basic, common sense.
