I’m thinking about the arc of economics and government policy and I’m wondering what on earth gave anyone under 55 the idea they would be thriving. If anything the US seems hellbent on making sure only a tiny sliver of the population thrives and most of those are at least 50 and older.
Half the people who bothered to vote in the last presidential opted for the “burn it all down” guy, you know the one who attempted an oxy insurrection. That’s hardly optimism, that’s “fuck it all I’m 100% sure my life is circling the toilet so let’s take some people with me”.
