I’m having a really hard time finding a straight answer on my situation.

I have a W2 job with biweekly withholdings, and I’m slightly overwithheld such that I get a moderate ~$500 refund at tax time. My wife and I file jointly though basically everything on the return is “mine” (in terms of earned income and withholdings in my name). She has been doing some small craft gig stuff on the side, nothing crazy. She might have like $800 in 1099 income by the end of the year, though she just started two months ago.

Are we still supposed to be paying quarterly federal taxes even though I expect a refund in excess of her taxes due? At $800, I’d estimate it to be around $218.40 for a 27.3% effective tax between payroll and income taxes. With my W2 info itself I’m currently expecting a $465 refund.
