I'm going to be doing some freelance work for the first time. I haven't done anything or made any money yet. But I know I will need to pay quarterly taxes on what I make.
I live in Virginia, and I called the VA Tax customer service and got specific guidance on how to pay it online each quarter and they also directed me to this calculator:
https://www.individual.tax.virginia.gov/tools/#/calculators/individualIncome
So it's my understanding I would use this calculator every quarter and just type in that quarter's earnings to figure it out.
I can't seem to find anything equivalent to this for the IRS. Their worksheets are complicated. Is there anything easy like this where I can just type in the amount I've made that quarter and it spits out a number to pay?
Is there a simple calculator for quarterly estimated self-employment taxes for IRS?
