My daughter’s mom and I are not together anymore, she has three children, two of them are from another man. She didn’t work this year, but is there a way for her to file taxes so she can claim all three of the children and receive the money for them even though she had no income? Thank you!

Just a few questions here on behalf of my daughter’s mom!

    1. Claiming children on a tax return acts as a credit against taxes owed. There’s no cash refund involved.

      She’s in the US, right?

      What state?

Does she live with any other adult? Are they related to the kids?

You can claim your child. Is there a reason you wanted her to claim the child instead? Do you have income?
