I am the successor executor of an estate. The previous executor’s records were incomplete. So I wasn't sure if I had all the 1099s for the estate. I requested the income transcripts from the IRS. To my surprise, it is actually missing a 1099 that I already received from a financial institution.
I guess this happened possibly due to a mistake. But if this is possible, could there be other 1099s issued to the estate that are not reflected on the estate's IRS income transcript? How am I supposed to know to include it when I file taxes for the estate? Thanks.
