I’m holding a penny stock that’s basically worthless (price ~$0.0001). Which I am trying to sell this year. The issue is I can’t seem to sell it due to low liquidity / possible trading halt. I want to realize the loss so I can report it on my taxes.

Call the broker and see if they will sell it for you
Worthless is not .0001. Needs to be worthless. You can try and sell it but probably get no buyer
I’d call the broker
“Removal of worthless securities” is a form that would need to be filed so the loss can be reported. This isn’t worthless. Wait till it is. Zero volume for the stock so unlikely you can get out of it.
