Hi everyone, I’m an artist in the US and recently started to sell work on my own. I plan on applying for my state’s sales tax license tomorrow and was wondering if I can collect sales tax before my application gets approved. That would probably take 7-14 days.
If a sale happens before I get my ID, do I still collect tax? Should I legally not sell my work? Can I sell without collecting tax?
I really appreciate your help. This is obviously a new and extremely confusing territory for me.
