Hey guys, normally I’ll use H&R Block for tax returns as I’ll have between 3-8 W2s for the year and it saves a lot of time. However this year I finally reached above $120k between 4 W-2s. With half or more of that being overtime pay I want to make sure I receive the full refund with the new bill that was passed. Should I continue using one of their tax professionals online? Or look into doing something in person.

    1. The part with the multiple W-2s and overtime is not complex enough to require a tax preparer if you can add up all of the numbers and enter the sum on the correct line.

If the jobs don’t tell you how much overtime is part of the exemption then you would have to check your pay stubs to see. But the tax preparer would have to do that too.

    2. I’ll be honest – I’ve seen so many returns prepared incorrectly by H&R Block. If all you have are W-2’s, you could easily use TurboTax to prepare your return.
