I just received w-2 for 2025 and something seems off. Usually amount difference between box 1 & box 3,5 was exactly my 401k contribution. However, this year box 1 is only $20700 less than box 3,5 even though I contributed max $23500. Could this be an error or am I missing something?

It could be that you have some other taxable benefits that your employer provides you that are also included in your box 1?
Box 12 should have your 401k contributions
