Devastated I can’t claim the full EV tax credit

Me and my spouse are very low income right now, we were planning on using the $4k tax credit for our honeymoon this may, but I’m only liable for about $1175 more in taxes after the standard deductions and savers credit, I had no idea the EV credit was “non-refundable” or even what that meant before today.

I should have car shopped somewhere I could get the credit transferred to the dealer instead, I had no idea though
