I usually use turbo tax all these years since my taxes are pretty simple, but this overtime thing is very confusing. I made 46k this year just on overtime so I don’t want to mess things up. It’s even more complicated filings in California. Should I go to a CPA or just regular tax agents?

Tax agent or CPA/EA for no overtime taxes?

    1. What do you mean by “Tax Agent?” In California a paid tax preparer needs to be a CPA, Enrolled Agent, Tax Lawyer, or CTEC certified.

    2. Read the posts for this and there should be plenty of information to help you do it correctly.

    3. What is your total income , filing status, is the 46k just the overtime premium (ie the 1/2 time ). Even if you use a professional -only you and possibly your employer know that answer
