Notice Letter – Unreported W2 Earnings

I received a notice from the IRS late last month stating that I did had unreported W-2 earnings from four different companies for tax year 2024. However, I never worked for those companies, so I sent a response stating that someone is using my W-2 illegally for employment. Unfortunately, I have not heard back from the IRS yet. Does anyone know what the next steps usually are with this and the IRS?

Note – I am working on reaching out to the companies. 2 of the 4 confirmed the employee was not me. I am still trying to get ahold of the other two companies. I also created a police report, filed an identity theft affidavit with the IRS, and reported this to the FTC.
