I am filing out an immigration form that requires total income for 2024.
However, I don't know if I should put what I calculated or what the IRS computer corrected it to (based on a math error, from what I've read here). What I wrote on my 1040 is 0 (foreign income), and what IRS "per computer" line corrected it to is still below the standard deduction and therefore the requirement for the form I'm filing. However, I still need to put the number.
What is considered the "most official" number? Putting the wrong information on this form would be devastating.
Is the "per computer" on a tax return transcript seen as the most "official" number or is it what I calculated?
