Delivery Subscriptions Tax-is this new?

I am not sure I understand.

I subscribe to a grocery delivery and pay a monthly fee of $9.99 per month.

Today I get the notification that it had been paid but the total has changed. The total is now $11.00. The receipt says a tax was charged to the monthly fee.

No food or delivery was involved. Haven’t orded anything from the store for 7 months.

Is this new?
