I received my 2025 1098-T form and box 1 for payments was left blank. In my 2024 1098-t, box 7 was checked. I did receive some scholarships and grants, but also paid about 4000 out-of-pocket. I understand that the scholarships and grants may be included on the 2024 1098, but wouldn’t the payments I made in spring of 25 be included on my 2025 1098? I filed a dispute that was rejected and I want to see if I should ask again. Any help is really appreciated.

Look at your 2025 account in your school’s financial portal. It should show all amounts deducted from scholarships/grants that were deposited or received directly from you between Jan 1 and Dec 31, 2025. If those amounts were applied against qualified education expenses (that means tuition and required school fees; not parking, health insurance, room & board, etc) then they belong in box 1 of the 1098-T.
It’s entirely possible that you paid all of the required tuition and fees in 2024 and they were correctly reported on your 2024 1098-T.
Are you 100% positive that the payment was made in the 2025 calendar year? What reasoning was given for the rejection?
1098-Ts are notorious for not being correct. Just pull the bursar transcript to accomplish what you are trying to do.
