Title explains the basics. I’m paid a fixed salary and I get overtime at an hourly rate that is based on my salary. I imagine they take the 40hr/week times 52 weeks/year = total hours/year and divide the salary by that amount to calculate an equivalent hourly rate. The company says they don’t recommend trying to get the income tax deduction because that only applies to the “half” portion of “time-and-a-half” hourly overtime pay. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for any insight.
