I forgot to include estimated taxes in tax returns but filed already with TurboTax. Paid about 20000 on estimated taxes throughout 2025 and the software said I still owed 11000. Should I immediately amend it? I logged into the IRS account and showed this credit but am afraid the IRS will keep this money or take forever to pay it back. What should I do?

You do not need to amend since the IRS already has this money. However it will be flagged for possible ID Theft since they believe the real you will know to claim this money. Unfortunately this will most likely go unpostsble. This is usual an additional 16-20 weeks. You can wait about a month and ask for a referral to the Unpostable explaining how you forgot to claim the payment. Under no circumstance should you file an amendment. As in don’t do it. No matter what anyone will tell you. Unless you want to wait over a year.

Nope.
IRS should process your return and issue Notice CP24 for the ES payment discrepancy.
On what date did IRS accept your return electronically?
I wouldn’t worry too much.
I read this saying you should be owed a 9k refund. You can suberseed this return, but I don’t know that I would. If the refund is legit you will get the money back.
If you actually owe 31k and paid 20k, you are fine to pay the outstanding 11k. The IRS will net out the actual amounts. You’ll get a letter or refund if owed like normal.
Hopefully that helps.
