It's "Internal Revenue Service Austin, TX 73301-0003 “From: U.S. Department of the Treasury” penalty for private use: 300"

I recently signed up for irs.gov account and id.me. In my irs account's profile settings, the "notices and letters" I set it to both mail and email. So for all notices etc do they mail and also email it too since I set it like that? I googled real quick and some said not every notice/letter will also be emailed even when I clicked that option…..anyways I went to irs site and I don't see any notice, no email, no balance, nothing. (If it's a notice for tax owed, or something serious , does irs site also show that in the site under notices?)

I did recently sign up for IP Pin, and also signed up for IRS and id.me accounts, maybe it's one of those? Letter also says presorted can it be bulk mail sent to everyone from IRS?

Letter from IRS, saw it in informed delivery but I am out of town

Not all letters are available on the website.

They do send a letter when you sign up for the first time and get a new user name and password. It could be that.

    2. Do you have a kid in college (or any situation that involves filling out the FAFSA paperwork)? I was freaked out a couple times by IRS letters that didn’t show up in my account and both times it was a notice that my social security number was used for a FAFSA inquiry.

Just a related question: Regardless of the type of IRS letter, what is the quickest response necessary? A month – 30 days? 90 days? Somewhere in between?

Knowing that can relieve a lot of anxiety on the worry about how long I am away from my mailbox. If it’s 30 days and I forward mail when I’m gone longer, then there’d be a lot less “worry”.
