Does anyone take advantage of North American Reciprocal Museums memberships? We pay $120 a year for a family membership to a living history museum in our state and get free admission to a bunch of other places. I'd love to hear about other NARM network museums worth visiting, especially on the East Coast. We're trying to make the most of it with 2 young kids who prefer places with activities and interactive exhibits. Any place with live animals seem to be their favorites.

Our favorite so far has been the Ecotarium, which would've been $66 for us to visit if we weren't NARM members. The most participating locations we've visited in one year is 4, but it was still a huge savings. We use library museum passes throughout the year as well, but this gives us additional options. We actually had to shop around a bit to see which museum near us had the cheapest qualifying membership fees, which have to be at least $100.

    1. I’ve done this a lot. ASTC for science, too. Best deal a couple of years ago was the Kern County museum family membership, which included several reciprocal memberships.

    2. There are a bunch in Philadelphia. Check out the museum of the American Revolution and Philadelphia magic gardens. I think Independence Seaport museum has kid activities.

    3. I got into the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC with my Boston Museum of Fine Arts membership card. It never hurts to ask.
