I am fairly sure I never got my W2 from them, but im not certain on that.
I asked my manager to print out or send me a pdf of my W2 but they said they will send me payroll instead. Idk what that meant and said how can I get my W2. They told me to check Paychex but I was never set up for that when working with them so I can't login.
Can I do my taxes with what they might send me? My taxes aren't that complicated yet.
Can't find W2 and employer insists on sending me payroll instead

If by “payroll” they mean they’re sending you your paystubs, then yes, there is a way in tax software to generate a substitute W-2 and input information from your final paystub for the year. (If I recall, the tax software, or at least the one I’ve used in the past, may ask you to also input an explanation that you tried to get the W-2 but the employer would not send it to you–it’s been a while since I’ve done a substitute W-2 though, so that may no longer be the case.)
You can also make an [IRS.gov](http://IRS.gov) account (if you don’t already have one) and access your wage transcripts, which is basically a copy of all the W-2s and everything that has been reported to the IRS by employers and whatnot. The only down side to this approach is that the IRS transcript will only show the federal taxes withheld, not state taxes–so it may be helpful to have the final paystub anyway so that you know how much was withheld in state taxes and you can input that amount on your state tax return.
Yes…contacting payroll is a common answer.
