Settlement for private student loans

I have $160k debt from First Tech Credit Union

I have been paying in good faith for 5+ years, but have been unable to save enough to move out of my parent’s house. I have about $20k saved, but would still be operating at net loss if I were to pay rent on top of my loan payments. There are also no hardship options available from First Tech. I have tried to refinance, but no other lender has been able to reduce my payments (~$1,700/month).

Does anyone have experience with settlement on six figure debt? If so, how long did it take?
