My family and I have hit a very rough patch and even though we were on Peco’s budget plan list our power. So sad but trying to make the most out of every penny spent and not lose the house. Like I was saying I’m looking for any ideas on how to cook without a stove and exist after like 7pm without lights. I’ve been without television for about a decade now and have gotten used to that but wondering if there’s stuff I’m not thinking about. Thanks in advance guys

do you have a backyard? You could get a fire pit and build a fire for a fun evening activity and roast hot dogs over the fire. Where im from you can get a wood cutting permit and get your own logs for super cheap if you have a chainsaw

A haybox cooker works like a slow cooker without electricity. It was used in 1920’s Germany due to lack of coal.
I don’ t have a design for you but you might find some in old camping books.

If you have thermos flasks and a good thermometer you can use those to make plain yoghurt as well as cook other things.

If you hav a back yard you can try cooking on a hobo stove.

Also for lighting..depending on what you have you can place candles in front of mirrors that amplify lights.
