I can't tell anymore if it's me or the market in general. I feel like I shop pretty much the same way I always have, same stores, same general categories of food, nothing premium. My monthly spend has noticeably crept up and I'm trying to figure out if that's because prices are rising again or if I've slowly started buying more without realizing it.
I've started paying more attention and trying to be more deliberate about a list, checking markdowns earlier in the week, and being smarter about what I actually need vs what ends up in the cart. It has helped a little but I'm still spending more than I was a year ago even with those adjustments.
Is anyone else tracking this and noticing the same pattern? Or is there data on whether grocery prices are actually going up again or if we've plateaued? Trying to figure out how much of this is fixable through better habits.
Are grocery prices going up again or have I just lost track of what things cost?

I’ve definitely noticed an increase in price in processed and pre packaged foods, but raw ingredients and staple cooking commodities are holding fairly steady. I’m a really frugal person at least when it comes to food and ive slowly and methodically been transitioning my family away from all the ultra processed junk by cooking a lot more at home. I blame the food corporations more than anything, there is no change in the market that requires doritios be over $6 a bag or Coke being $11 for a 12 pack. They’re just squeezing the consumer for as much as possible.
