I filed my tax return with Turbo Tax in early February. Joint filing with my wife, two states (NJ and NY)
After that I realized my Employer's benefits company messed up my 2025 healthcare. To be fair, I made it complicated and they failed to execute. But that's a different story.
Once it's all sorted out my employer sends me an W-2C with the only change being Box 12 being listed as $1000 under Code W for "Employer Contributions to your HSA. Report on Form 8889"
I went to amend it with Turbo Tax and realized I still haven't received my NY State refund, and that many people haven't because of some major delays.
Well that threw Turbo Tax into a tizzy and the software had a spasm when I tried to amend my return. At first it wouldn't accept anything at all, and then when the "Experts" overrode it, it was telling me I owed insane amounts of money to Federal and both states. Expert tells me try again later.
So here's my question while I wait for Turbo Tax to get it's shit together. Does this correction effect my full wages, as in, do I actually need to file an amendment whenever I eventually can?
Amended Return (W-2C) only for Employer contributions to HSA
