Hi, I’m really confused and need advice.
I was driving straight down a road in Baltimore County at around 26 mph in a 30 zone. There were cars parked on the side of the street. A driver suddenly pulled out from a parked position and was making swerved out of a parked position. She didn’t signal and came out quickly, and I didn’t have time to avoid hitting her.
My car hit the passenger front side, and her driver-side door was damaged.
The police report says I “crashed into the side of her vehicle while she was making a U-turn,” and now my insurance is saying I’m at fault based on that.
It’s been 3 weeks, the other driver hasn’t even responded to her insurance, and I already paid $711 for towing. My car is totaled and I don’t have collision coverage.
I don’t understand how I’m at fault when she pulled out into the road. Isn’t someone making a U-turn supposed to yield?
Is this normal in Maryland? Do I have any chance of fighting this or getting my money back?
Insurance says I’m at fault for accident but other driver made pulled out to makeU-turn, didn’t indicate or anything? (Maryland)

ask your adjuster to explain why they accepted liability and then delete this thread.
Nothing about that makes sense, especially in MD with their pure contributory liability. She clearly contributed to the loss based on what you said happened. So you need to talk to your insurance about why they made this decision.
