Hi guys. Second time working with auto-insurance and I am bit confused and don’t want to make some mistakes.
I have a financed Toyota. I received an estimate and then a check for about 3k to fix my car. My local dealership asked for much more than 3k, so I decided to fix most of it myself, bought some parts from dealership, fb marketplace, other bodyshops. 90% of labor I did myself and paid for everything myself as well. I needed my car fixed asap due to work so I could not wait two weeks for a check to come.
bank tells me I can not cash out it without endorsement from Toyota. What to do next? Should I explain them my whole situations?

Just guessing but I’m guessing they want to make sure the repairs are done correctly since it’s still a financed vehicle?
Damn that’s crazy. My insurance company saw my pictures, cut me a check, and closed the claim all in a couple of days. I never even actually did the repairs.
If the check was made out to you and the repair shop, then you need to get the repair shop to sign off on the check. Which…..they’re not likely to do if you didn’t have them do the work.
You’d have to go back to insurance and explain to them that you did the repair work yourself, and didn’t have it done at the shop. So they need to re-issue the check to you alone.
