Two months ago, a driver ran a stop sign and rear-ended my vehicle, resulting in a total loss. The driver’s insurance company accepted liability immediately. However, it has now been two months, and they have yet to pay off my lease. In the meantime, I am still required to continue making both my insurance and lease payments.
I was advised not to cancel my insurance policy since the claim has not been finalized. Will I be reimbursed for the lease and insurance payments once the at-fault party’s insurance completes the payoff?

I don’t know how it works with leases. Third party claims take a while but two months seems to be enough time to settle the claim. Maybe they just pay to fix the damage. I couldn’t imagine they do that, and pay off the lease.
