This semester, I have had financial difficulty in attempts to cover the balance of my spring tuition. In regards, I have jumped through hoops, doing research, applying to scholarships, applying to different loans, and emailed several deans.
Long story short, the financial director of my school reached out due to my troubles, and we arranged a meeting.
The meeting ended with encouragement to apply for loans and continue to work on my credit. After I had written multiple scholarship essays, I had won one of them, which covered more than what I owe.
The only problem is, the scholarship was allocated to the following semester for summer, and not the current one I am having trouble with, as discussed and emphasized during the course of conversation
What am I to do in this situation?

That’s incredibly frustrating – you literally spelled out which semester you needed help with and they still managed to mess it up

I’d email the financial director again with screenshots or documentation from your original conversation where you specified spring semester. Most schools can reallocate scholarship funds between terms if there’s been a clear miscommunication like this

Does the scholarship application state when the funds will be applied? In my experience, scholarships are typically awarded for the next academic semester or year unless specifically stated. Was this scholarship funded by the financial department of the school?
