Popular Chinese commentator ‘Professor Jiang’ claims Bitcoin is a “CIA operation.” Do you believe that?

If that were to be the case, Biden administration could have easily shut it down

    2. I think this guy is completely overrated but you don’t need to put “Chinese” in the title to discredit his opinion here.

There’s no other reason to add that except for the obvious one.

      1) it’s open sourced

      2) even if this were the case, the theory goes that after the GFC, they knew that the dollar couldn’t last forever so they set up an alternative. This doesn’t exactly make me bearish.

    4. WHERE IS THE BITCOIN?!!?!?!?1 WHERE DO YOU KEEP IT???? THE PHYSICAL BITCOIN– I CAN’T SEE IT : IT’S NOT REAL BUDDY

    5. I enjoy watching Prof J, I find his lectures entertaining. He does however have large blindspots and is very open about how this is all just his opinion and not to be taken as fact.

You guys don’t have to post stupid shit you hear on the internet. You know that, right? You don’t have to share stupid shit you see on the internet. Like, you can just ignore it.

      Hope this helps

    7. Given the Chinese government’s position, I think that it’s not surprising that any Chinese citizen would say something to disparage Bitcoin.

I’m so glad this guy finally talked enough to show that he doesn’t know a goddamn thing. Where are the servers? They’re at the Alamo in the basement

    9. I used to work with a guy who would reference everything back to DARPA.

Some people are just like that.

    10. Hahaha… that‘s what happens, if you are living behind the great firewall without a VPN….

    11. Bitcoin is the petrodollar replacement. It’s going to a million and beyond. It will hit $500K by 2030.

Does anyone know where the original video is?
I’d love to see the whole thing for context.

    13. Yeah, tell me you don’t understand how the blockchain works without telling me you don’t understand how the blockchain works. “It’s on the servers. I don’t care if it’s open source, it’s on a server.” Guys an idiot.

    14. Sure, that’s why banks and regulators have had a jihad against it for over a decade. The cabal made a decentralized currency to completely undercut their ability to manipulate supply by printing money for themselves. Makes sense.

The reality is it was a passion project of one or a few decentralization-focused developers. It is being slowly normalized into established systems because enough people got rich from bitcoin by buying early or setting up successful mining operations to finally have some pull in congress, wall street, and banks.

But the bigger reality is bitcoin was invented because bitcoin was possible. It was eventually going to be invented by someone at some point in time, and it cannot be undone. It subverts the banking system and gives everyone the ability to self-custody their wealth. You can’t undo that.

    15. Highly recommend Jon Stewart’s mindblowing crypto discussion on his podcast this week. I’m not worried about the CIA. I’m worried about what we actually know is going on, but what isn’t getting a lot of coverage because it gets crowded out.

    16. I absolutely love this guy but his rudimentary knowledge of Bitcoin really undermines him, he needs to study BTC badly

Maybe CIA uses bitcoin for some purposes, who knows what these 3 letters do anyways? But I don’t think bitcoin itself is an ongoing operation of 10+ years.
