I think I screwed up my credit card..?

Hello everyone, first time poster in need of advice or anything. I believe i may have screwed myself while getting my first major credit card. I am in the process of changing my name, though i am still with my birth name as the legal one. When i signed up for my first major card, I, without thinking put my chosen name on the card. I was getting used to my chosen name so much i just assumed it into my daily life. The SSN is the same. The account is 100% me, im not trying to be someone else. Now im freaking out because i realized i put the wrong name. The only way to change it is by submitting a name change form, and when i called the company they told me to submit the change request online to have it changed to my legal name. Im waiting on a response. I tried explaining it was a simple mistake that i made without thinking. I have charged the card and made payments on it already. Have I made a grave error or is this a simple fix and i shouldnt be worrying so much?
