So I was informed that all my loans moved over to Mohela sometime in my sophomore year. Cool, I thought. I paid off all of my loans before they could accrue any interest, like a good, responsible adult.
I'm done, right?
NO.
Apparently, I have $1900 remaining with Heartland ECSI (which I was never told about, because again, I was told ALL OF MY LOANS MIGRATED) and I just got an email telling me I have a payment overdue.
Well shucks. Guess I'll just bite the little bit of interest and take care of the entire loan now so I never have to deal with it again.
**Oh I can only make a one time payment of $40 to meet the bare minimum payment**
WHAT DO YOU MEAN. LET ME PAY IT IN FULL!
**also, you must pay a fee to pay the loan back if you're doing a one time payment**
*AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH*
Anyways, I'm currently having a late night aneurysm from the dropkick of stress and having to make a VERY heartfelt call tomorrow.

Man that’s some serious BS from ECSI – they basically set up a system to milk you for maximum fees and interest instead of just letting you pay it off
The whole “you can only pay minimum” thing is such garbage, like what loan servicer actively prevents you from paying them back faster? And then charging you a fee on top of that is just salt in wound
Hope your call tomorrow goes better than expected, sometimes escalating to supervisor can get these ridiculous restrictions lifted
