This is the one official Hormuz Blockade Daily Megathread for {{date %B %d, %Y}}
Is it open yet: https://www.ishormuzopenyet.com/
Everything else gets yeeted into the void (or at least politely redirected here). New articles, memes, wild speculation, questions about how screwed your superannuation is, grainy satellite pics of tankers doing U-turns — drop it all below.
Quick rules so we don’t sink this thread too:
- Be civil. This isn’t Twitter.
- Actual sources or at least say “saw it on twitter” so we know how cooked it is.
We’re all watching the same slow-motion geopolitical car crash anyway — might as well watch it from one thread instead of 47 identical ones.
- What’s the latest you’ve seen?
- Any tankers actually turned around yet?
- Oil price predictions?
- Or are we all just doom-scrolling until someone blinks

Feel free to report this post as low effort / AI slop that it is. We'll be sure to take it under consideration

But I was told everything is hunky-dory now.
I’m so tired. What exactly is going on?
I don’t even know what’s happening anymore
Can someone please correct me if I’m wrong;
As of right now President Trump says we are very close to possibly making a deal with Iran to halt nuclear weapon development. The United States is blockading all Iranian ports but leaving the strait open to all traffic not coming to or coming out of the ports in Iran.
Iran government says they are still open to negotiations with the US and that the strait will be open to all commercial traffic non military as long as they traverse their designated route and coordinate with the IRGC. All of this is contingent on Isreal keeping up with its ceasefire on Lebanon.
It’s basically the same thing as yesterday at $10 less per barrel and “no” fireworks… but it sounds like for now nobody is shooting each other which sounds good.
All of this could just be based on the news station I watch so please fill me in if I’m wrong.
