Hi guys, i (21m) just applied for my first credit card being the discover it student card and i was denied. i decided to wait a couple of days and apply for the capital one savor student card as i need to get a credit card set up asap, and i was denied again!!! i don’t know why i was denied, i thought all students are supposed to be eligible??? my current rent payments are $450 a month and i made $10,000 last year. i know i have to wait to apply now and am i just screwed? will i not be able to get a credit card ever? i have no way to build any credit without a card so what am i supposed to do? i’ve been independent and living by myself since i was 17 so there’s no way for me to get help from family. any advice will be greatly appreciated!!!

Get a secured credit card
Well, it would help. If you read the letters that are gonna be mailed to you as to why they denied you. There would be important information there.
But you can look into getting a secured card, maybe something through chime
yeah when i was 18, i applied to three different student cards and got denied to all of them. i opened up a secured card, and after a few months i had a solid credit score and was able to get the capital one savor one student card. i think you need a secured card first unfortunately
