NY State Tax – Pay By Phone Time?

Hey everyone,

I live in NJ and work remotely for a NYC company.

I have an accountant file my taxes so I have never actually done the filing, but regardless I usually get money back from NY and owe NJ.

This year I owe NY for the first time. I’ve tried to set up an account online but it requires you to input information based on your current or last return and it has to be an exact amount. It keeps saying my information is incorrect when it isn’t.

I don’t have any checks so i would probably have to go to the bank and pay five bucks to get one to mail the amount in.

Does anyone know how long an expected wait time would be to get a hold of someone on the phone? I’d rather not eat the five dollars and one dollar for mail, but this is obviously a small issue.
